The Heart Behind Higher Hope
I’m Dr. Crystal Holt, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 16 years of experience in mental health and school counseling. Throughout my career, I have worked with adolescents, families, and individuals navigating a wide range of challenges—from emotional overwhelm and life transitions to more complex behavioral and relational concerns.
My experience extends beyond traditional therapy to include clinical assessments, school-based support, and consulting, allowing me to provide a well-rounded and practical approach to care.
I created Higher Hope Wellness to provide a space where women and individuals can feel safe enough to truly be themselves—without pressure, judgment, or overwhelming clinical language. I believe healing does not have to feel complicated to be effective. My goal is to create an environment where you feel seen, heard, and genuinely understood.
Creating empowering spaces for women—especially women of color—is deeply important to me. In addition to counseling, I am passionate about curating experiences that allow women to connect, unwind, and pour back into themselves. Through intentional gatherings in welcoming, neutral spaces, I aim to foster community, encourage meaningful connection, and create moments where women can simply breathe, be present, and feel supported.
My approach is warm, honest, and practical. I don’t believe in overly complicated language or one-size-fits-all methods. Instead, I focus on helping you understand what’s happening beneath the surface while equipping you with tools you can actually use in your daily life.
My work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Care. Together, we focus on reframing negative thought patterns, building healthy boundaries, strengthening self-worth, and managing emotional overwhelm.
Outside of my work, I value creating a life that feels as peaceful and intentional as the one I encourage for my clients. I enjoy spending time with my family, being present, and finding moments to truly unwind.
I’m especially drawn to the calm of the beach and being near water. It’s one of the ways I reset and reconnect. Lately, I’ve also been enjoying audiobooks and exploring different hot tea blends, which have become a meaningful part of my personal self-care routine.
I believe in protecting your energy, choosing yourself without guilt, and creating a life that feels aligned, not just looks good on the outside. You don’t have to have everything figured out to begin, you just have to be willing to take the first step.
